Yiwei joined the Kwon Lab as a postdoctoral fellow in May 2025 after completing her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at the University of Maryland. Her doctoral research explored immune responses to Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection in the female reproductive tract. In the Kwon Lab, Yiwei is exploring how vaginal dysbiosis shapes local inflammation, using spatial transcriptomic tools to unravel the cellular interactions at play. Outside the lab, she loves hiking scenic trails, video gaming, and experimenting in the kitchen.
