Wenzile is a PhD candidate in Medicine at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in collaborations with the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT & Harvard. She specializes in HIV virology, immunology, and molecular biology. As a Research Technician at the HIV Pathogenesis Programme (HPP), she gained extensive experience in flow cytometry, immunophenotyping, and clinical sample processing. Beyond laboratory expertise, she is deeply committed to mentorship, science communication, and empowering women in STEM. With a strong academic foundation—including a Master’s in Medical Science (Virology) and a BSc in Biochemistry & Genetics—she combines technical excellence with leadership to advance innovative biomedical research. Her long-term goal is to contribute to global health innovation by driving translational research that informs therapies and prevention strategies against HIV and related infectious diseases.
