Tumelo Moshoette
Postdoctoral research fellow
Durban, South Africa
Tumelo is a postdoctoral fellow jointly appointed by the Kwon Lab (Ragon Institute, USA) and the UKZN HIV Pathogenesis Research Programme (Durban, South Africa). He did his PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand working on engineering and characterizing bispecific antibodies targeting HIV-1 subtype C. His work in the Kwon Lab/UKZN HPP is on understanding antibody–vaginal microbiome interactions and how these interactions ultimately influence susceptibility to HIV acquisition. In his free time, Tumelo enjoys watching soccer and the odd T20 proteas match, exploring, and a lekker braai.
