Simran joined the Kwon lab in September 2023 as a Harvard/MIT MD-PhD candidate in the Harvard Immunology graduate program. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR. In the Kwon lab, she is studying how metabolites impact T cell immunity and defense against herpes infection in the female genital tract. She also enjoys scientific outreach and mentorship and currently co-leads a summer program for college students interested in MD-PhD training. Outside of work, Simran loves hot yoga, watching movies, playing with her two cats, and cooking for others.
