Avash Das
Clinical Fellow
Cambridge, USA
Avash is a Molecular Genetic Pathology clinical fellow at Massachusetts General Brigham (MGB) and joined the Kwon Lab as a research affiliate in July 2025. After completing medical school in India, his scientific journey began at the Cardiovascular Research Center at MGH. He subsequently pursued a PhD at UT Southwestern Medical Center in the laboratory of Helen Hobbs and Jonathan Cohen, where he studied the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying fatty liver disease. As a physician-scientist, Avash aims to integrate basic science with clinical molecular pathology to address translational questions. In the Kwon Lab, his research focuses on immune–epithelial interactions and tissue adaptation in response to metabolic stressors. Outside the laboratory, he enjoys spending time with his wife, exploring the history of medicine, visiting art museums, and finding relaxation through cooking.
