Achla joined the Kwon Lab in September 2025 as a Research Technician I. She received her bachelor's degree in Engineering Sciences and Bioengineering from Dartmouth College. Achla is working in collaboration with Elsa genetically engineering vaginal Lactobacilli to understand gene function, expand the available genetic toolbox, and design new bacterial therapies to improve women’s health. Outside of work, she enjoys basketball, dancing, painting, and entertaining herself with bad jokes.
